"Seven"

E.B. Farms MM Seventh Destiny

Seven was a favorite from our 2021 crop and was shown a couple times, taking home bridesmaid "reserve champion" wins on a few occasions, each time behind a herd mate of hers. We bred her to be a yearling milker in 2022 and she had an odd, lengthy labor that gave us a bad feeling so we made the choice to bring her to our teaching hospital where the following day she had a c-section to deliver twin does, one of which they were able to bring back from anesthesia.

Seven was very slow to come into milk and we found keeping her in condition a challenge so we only showed her once or twice, so we moved to once a day milking and then immediately dried her off after appraisals. She has matured so much over the fall and we had an easy time breeding her so are hopeful for her spring kidding to go without challenges! We love the length of bone on this girl and her strength and straightness of topline and rump. Her Mammary needs to mature a lot but we look forward to seeing her fresh again.

We were on OS-40 and dried many does off early prior to our busy holidays. Next year we will have more complete data as we are moving to Standard 305, Additionally, Seven's lactation was shorter than others so she could fully bounce back and gain body prior to breeding her again in the fall, since she had a caesarian.
