SGCH (pend) Pure-Delight Maui Moonlight 1*M

I am not really sure the ways I can accurately express my admiration for this "pretty little goat". I answered a craigslist ad in 2020 listing daughters for sale by Lucky*Star's Fellini, a buck whose progeny and lines I had been admiring...

I went up to PA that day and had it in mind I would pick out one doe kid to take home. I was met by the most wonderful elderly woman, who I thoroughly enjoyed talking goats with and learning about her herd and how long Mary had been breeding beautiful goats. It was evident that her eye was quite good seeing what was hiding in that barn of hers.

Maui caught my eye immediately and I thought "Everyone will just see the spots!" but I saw beyond all the flash to a tiny tubular doe kid that had all the parts, just lacking the maturity to put it all together. I payed for her (an amount I am certain now was far too little) and we went on our way! It would be later that summer that I would end up taking the majority of the goats remaining at Mary's. While not all stayed over the next few years, Maui and her grade sister have continued to amaze us.

Maui remained a dry yearling, still gangly... but when she freshened as a two year old, WOW! Leaps and Bounds in maturity were made that year and she has continued that trend since. We look forward to her earning accolades for many years to come. Our "Little engine that could, can, and does!"
